2020 Opel Insignia Grand Sport

Opel has taken a first look at the new Insignia. The new edition of the German brand's top model is making its debut at the  Brussels Motor Show 2020 and offers buyers even sharper optics and even better visibility at night. Thanks to its revised design, this top model is even more solid on the road. The extremely slim headlights with future-oriented LED technology contribute to this. The new adaptive pixel lighting IntelliLux LED®  now consists of 84 LED elements for reflectors. The headlights respond faster and more precisely than ever before, giving Insignia drivers optimal visibility without dazzling oncoming vehicles or vehicles ahead. With the new generation of IntelliLux LED® Pixel Light technology, the Opel flagship is unique in its market segment.

The new edition of the Insignia is packed with advanced technology. For the first time, the Grand Sport Sedan and Sports Tourer Station Wagon are equipped with a digital reversing camera. In combination with the parking assistant, which warns of vehicles approaching from the side, the system  increases safety even further.Numerous proven assistance systems such as the front collision warning with automatic emergency braking and pedestrian detection as well as the head-up display round off the range. The Insignia's driver and passengers are well connected thanks to a range of high-quality color touchscreen infotainment systems. The list of options includes e-call and wireless charging of compatible smartphones in the center console.

The new Opel Insignia is exclusively equipped  with full LED lighting systems. From  energy-efficient LED headlights to the new  IntelliLux LED® adaptive pixel lighting, which has a total of 168 industry-leading LED elements instead of the previous 32.The high beam is continuously adjusted within milliseconds by two control units, one connected to the front camera and the other to the headlight. A large number of constantly reacting LED elements ensure an even adjustment of the light cone. The illuminated area is larger than before, the approaching or preceding movement is "cut" more precisely.

The range and direction of the light vary depending on the traffic situation and environment. The light functions range from curves and bad weather to city, country and motorway roads and optimized parking lot lighting. In particular, Opel has further improved the highway lighting with the latest IntelliLux LED®. When turning left, the light cone is extended further to the left so that the driver can  see traffic signs better. When turning right in expressway mode, the light cone continues to the right up to so as not to dazzle oncoming vehicles. The performance of the new IntelliLux LED® Pixel Light System has been significantly increased. Each ultra-flat headlamp has 84 LEDs arranged in three rows, along with the cornering and dipped beam and the  LED daytime running lights below.

The same chrome strip extends left and right  to the LED daytime running lights, which are now located at the bottom instead of at the top of each headlight. The Insignia appears lower and wider, especially thanks to the air intakes with integrated fog lights. The rear of the Insignia Grand Sport and Sports Tourer is also emphasized by clear lines. As with the station wagon, the side panel of the Grand Sport sedan will  feature two cutouts instead of round openings for the exhaust pipes. The clean, horizontal lines of the design continue inside. Precisely placed chrome accents create an elegant atmosphere.

The range of infotainment systems compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto ranges from Multimedia Radio and Multimedia Navi to Multimedia Navi Pro.The top device offers numerous networked navigation services. With real-time traffic information, online map updates and predictive navigation, your journeys will be more relaxed. New icons give the navigation screen a fresher and more modern look. The same applies to tools. With the built-in e-call system, an emergency call is automatically made when the seat belt tensioners or airbags are activated.Alternatively, help can be actively called within seconds by simply pressing the red button. The new Insignia will offer a high level of comfort. AGR-certified ergonomic seats  for the driver and front passenger are available as an option. Compatible smartphones can be charged wirelessly.
