1.0 TSI EVO 110 hp – basic version 1.The 110 hp 0.0-litre three-cylinder turbo petrol engine uses Miller's efficient TSI  combustion process and  a  variable geometry turbocharger. It offers a maximum power of 110 hp at 5,500 rpm and an impressive torque of 200 Nm  between 2,000 and 3,000 rpm. These excursions offer a 0-60 mph time in 10.2 seconds and a top speed of 126 mph (where permitted). In the WLTP combined cycle, consumption is  49.6 and 53.3mpg, while CO2 emissions are 121-129g/km depending on optional equipment. This engine is only available in the Life version with a 6-speed manual gearbox.

Single 150 hp eTSI  petrol engine with mild hybrid
 
1.5 eTSI MHEV 150 hp - The first mild hybrid engine (MHEV)  in the Volkswagen Golf, this supercharged four-cylinder  petrol engine is connected to the 48-volt system .The 48-volt belt starter, the 48-volt Li-ion battery and the innovative and efficient TSI engines of the latest generation deliver high performance with significantly lower fuel consumption than the discontinued petrol version of the Golf 7. The new Golf eTSI  also includes the Brake energy regeneration and the 48-volt engine The system enables navigation when the  engine is switched off. The relatively small diameter of the wires and the resulting low weight of the wiring  enable the to transmit electricity efficiently.

Two diesel engines with 115 PS or 150 PS

2.0 TDI 115 PS - The entry-level turbodiesel engine in today's Golf might, not so very long ago, have been among the range-topping offerings, so great is the pace of the model's development. This 2.0 liter four-cylinder TDI  engine develops 115 hp from  3,250 to 4,000 rpm and  300 Nm of torque from 1,600 to 2,500 rpm. Combined with the 6 speed manual transmission giving it a 0-60mph time of 10.2 seconds and a top speed of 126mph. The fuel consumption measured in the combined WLTP  cycle varies between 62.8-68.9 mpg, with a CO2 value of 108-118 g/km, depending on equipment.
