The Land Cruiser has achieved many great feats in a history spanning almost 75 years and is longest Toyota's longest-running production model. Renowned worldwide as a vehicle that will take you anywhere and everywhere - and bring you safely home.

New Performance Hybrid powertrain

In its constant evolution to reach new horizons and embrace innovative technologies, the Land Cruiser 300 is now adopting a hybrid powertrain for the first time. It is a performance hybrid that combines the model's legendary qualities with Toyota's leadership in vehicle electrification, established over three decades since the launch of the original Prius.

Delivering the first electrified version of Land Cruiser also aligns with Toyota's multipath philosophy, giving customers powertrain choices that are right for their personal needs and local conditions, on the journey towards carbon neutrality.

The new system combines a 3.5-litre V6 twin-turbo engine with a single motor-generator in a parallel hybrid arrangement. It gives the Land Cruiser more power and high-torque towing strength and maintains its exceptional all-terrain capabilities without compromise. Maximum output is 457 DIN hp / 227 kW, making this the most powerful Land Cruiser yet, with maximum torque rising by 20 per cent to 790 Nm.

The petrol engine and a single motor-generator can operate in combination, maximising the benefit of the electric motor's high torque and power, giving powerful, responsive and linear acceleration - throttle response has improved by 40% compared to Land Cruiser 300's 3.3-litre twin-turbo ICE powertrain. The vehicle can also run on its electric motor alone at speeds below 30 km/h, with automatic, seamless switching to EV driving.

The system features a new structure in which a motor-generator with a clutch is located between the engine and a 10-speed automatic transmission. Engine start-up, EV driving, electric assist and energy regeneration are all handled by the hybrid system, which includes a nickel-metal hydride battery.

Together with the hybrid system, a new electric power steering is also introduced, providing better precision and vehicle control on all type of roads.

The model has undergone extreme testing in challenging environments around the world, confirming its all-terrain capabilities. Measures including waterproofing of the battery housing ensure its wading capacity is maintained (700 mm).

The new Land Cruiser 300 Hybrid will be introduced in selected eastern European markets from January 2026.

Model range and equipment highlights

The new Land Cruiser 300 will be introduced in three equipment grades, VX, ZX and GR SPORT, all with a five-seat interior layout. Across the board, the specifications reflect Land Cruiser's status as both a prestige model and one that is capable of covering the most challenging terrain.

The VX model has 18-inch high-gloss alloy wheels, a power back door, 1500W AC outlet, full LED sequential headlights and LED front fog lights. In the cabin, the infotainment package includes a digital driver's combimeter and multimedia touchscreen, both of which measure 12.3 inches.

The system provides route navigation and the on-board entertainment includes a powerful 14-speaker JBL premium audio system. High comfort is provided by a four-zone air conditioning system with additional rear cabin heater, a heated steering wheel and power-adjustable front seats.

Extensive driving assistance systems equip the model for off-road journeys, including Toyota's Multi-Terrain Select which automatically adapts braking and drive force to suit different driving conditions. Crawl Control and a Multi-Terrain Monitor support safe progress over uneven ground, while Downhill Assist Control, a Blind Spot Monitor, parking sensors and a Panoramic View Monitor support safe and easy on-road manoeuvring as well.

The ZX version adopts an aero body kit, adding further emphasis to the Land Cruiser's powerful appearance. Other key features include Adaptive Variable Suspension, a five-mode drive selector, head-up display, hands-free kick sensor for the power back door and a rear limited-slip differential.

The GR SPORT introduces design details that draw inspiration from the multi-world-championship-winning TOYOTA GAZOO Racing teams. It is fitted with exclusive front and rear bumpers and wheel arches to create a more commanding look and the front grille carries the classic TOYOTA name badge.

The 18-inch wheels have a bespoke off-road design and GR logo badging is featured both on the vehicle's bodywork and in the cabin. Off-road performance is enhanced with the addition of e-KDSS (electronic Kinetic Dynamic Suspension System) which automatically disengages the anti-roll bars to increase wheel travel and maintain tyre contact with the ground on very uneven terrain.
