The ŠKODA ENYAQ SPORTLINE iV is the sportiest version yet of the new, all-electric SUV from Mladá Boleslav. Its look is characterised by a range of black design features and large wheels, while the lowered sports chassis makes for a particularly dynamic driving experience. The interior adds to the sporty feel, thanks to decorative, carbon-style trims, a three-spoke multifunction steering wheel and seats with integrated headrests. ŠKODA's new flagship model range now includes a SPORTLINE variant, offered in three performance levels. The ŠKODA ENYAQ SPORTLINE iV 60 has an output of 132 kW, while the ENYAQ SPORTLINE iV 80 produces 150 kW. Both feature rear-wheel drive. The all-wheel-drive ENYAQ SPORTLINE iV 80x is equipped with two electric motors generating a combined output of 195 kW.

The SPORTLINE variants are an integral part of ŠKODA's model portfolio. The Czech car manufacturer is continuing with this tradition by adding the ŠKODA ENYAQ SPORTLINE iV to the line-up of its first all-electric SUV. The new variant comes with a sports chassis as standard that features model-specific springs and shock absorbers, and has been lowered by 15 mm at the front and 10 mm at the rear. Body-coloured bumpers and side sills further enhance the car's sporty appearance. Whether fitted with rear- or all-wheel drive, the electric SUV boasts excellent traction, confidently transmitting the power generated by the electric drive system to the road in any situation. Because of how electric motors work, the car's maximum torque is available immediately, even when pulling away. Furthermore, the high-voltage battery fitted in the floor between the axles ensures a low centre of gravity, which has a positive effect on the vehicle's agility and behaviour when cornering. Thanks to its model-specific sports chassis, the ENYAQ SPORTLINE iV can handle fast corners more dynamically and with less roll. The progressive steering, another standard feature, also allows for sportier handling.

The ENYAQ SPORTLINE iV 80x boasts two motors and all-wheel drive

The most powerful variant is the ŠKODA ENYAQ SPORTLINE iV 80x. Thanks to a second electric motor on the front axle, it transmits power to the road via all-wheel drive. The two motors have a combined output of 195 kW and offer a maximum torque of 425 Nm. The 80x is mainly driven by a permanent-magnet synchronous motor (PSM) on the rear axle, which delivers an output of 150 kW, a maximum torque of 310 Nm and maximum running speed of 16,000 rpm. The PSM is designed in an axially parallel configuration, along with the pulse inverter and a single-speed gearbox. It boasts a high power density and a high level of efficiency. Its power is consistent over a wide speed range with a constant power output. An asynchronous motor, designed with a pulse inverter and a single-speed gearbox in a coaxial arrangement, is used at the front. This has an output of 80 kW, a maximum torque of 162 Nm and maximum running speed of 13,500 rpm. Asynchronous motors are characterised by a short-term overload capability and low drag losses. They are thus perfect for short-term boosts. The ENYAQ SPORTLINE iV 80x is powered by a 82 kWh battery and can cover more than 500 km in the WLTP cycle.

Comfort and safety with Travel Assist

Travel Assist provides active support for longitudinal and lateral steering and comprises Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), Adaptive Lane Assist including roadwork recognition, Traffic Jam Assist and Emergency Assist. The system is activated at the touch of a button, which is located on the multifunction steering wheel, keeping the ENYAQ SPORTLINE iV in its lane and automatically monitoring the distance to the vehicle in front. In congested traffic, Travel Assist can autonomously bring the ŠKODA ENYAQ SPORTLINE iV to a stop, make it pull away and follow other vehicles. Travel Assist displays the vehicle's surroundings on the screens, allowing the driver to see any objects detected by the vehicle sensors. The Travel Assist function requires the driver to keep their hands on the steering wheel. If the vehicle detects that the driver is no longer steering, braking or accelerating, Emergency Assist initially warns them visually, then acoustically and ultimately by jolting the brakes. If the driver fails to react, the hazard lights are activated, the vehicle is brought to a standstill in its current lane and eCall is triggered. The next-stage system will follow later this year. This feature will then guide the car through narrow spaces. It will also take over lateral steering in the city using online information based on current swarm data for this purpose. When the indicator is activated, the system will assist in changing lanes and provide steering support through tight corners. Predictive Cruise Control will react to obstacles reported via online traffic data. Furthermore, the optional Park Assist feature - which currently automatically manoeuvres the vehicle into and out of parallel and bay parking spaces - will be able to brake automatically and prevent the car from colliding with pedestrians or objects. Area View is even better than the optional rear-view camera, as its four cameras create a 360 degree top-down image of the ENYAQ SPORTLINE iV and its immediate surroundings.

Proactive Crew Protect Assist and up to nine airbags

Should a collision be imminent - despite all the assistance systems or if the driver initiates a sudden braking manoeuvre - the proactive Crew Protect Assist feature will automatically take precautions to protect the vehicle's occupants. In the event of an impending collision or if the car is in danger of skidding or tipping over, the system will tension the seat belts and close the windows and the panoramic sliding roof. The ŠKODA ENYAQ SPORTLINE iV's occupants are protected by up to nine airbags. Driver and front passenger airbags and front side airbags are fitted as standard, as are two curtain airbags which cover the front and rear side windows. A central airbag between the front seats reduces the impact between the driver and front passenger should an accident occur, and two optional side airbags for the outer rear seats provide additional protection.

Effective braking system and brake energy recovery

When the brakes are applied, the ENYAQ SPORTLINE iV uses its highly effective brake energy recovery system to slow down, provided the battery has sufficient storage capacity. The electric motor acts as a generator, making braking more efficient while increasing the vehicle's range. The energy released during braking is not lost in the form of heat, but is converted into electric energy and fed into the battery. If necessary, the braking system automatically engages. Using the standard-feature paddles on the steering wheel, the driver can manually adjust the degree of recuperation at any time and, in doing so, the level of braking assistance. The front wheels feature ventilated brake discs and, as the rear brakes are subjected to minimal load due to the energy recovery system, the rear wheels are fitted with robust drum brakes, which are particularly resistant to corrosion thanks to their closed design.

Dynamic appearance with black body applications

A wealth of gloss black design features identify this latest ENYAQ iV variant as a typical ŠKODA SPORTLINE at first glance. The surround of the striking ŠKODA grille boasts a gloss black finish, as do the c-shaped trims of the air curtains. This contrasts nicely with the dynamically designed, body-coloured front apron, which features a large central air inlet with honeycomb mesh and a spoiler lip. There are gloss black finishing touches on the wing mirrors, window frames and roof rails, as well as on the diffuser in the model-specific rear apron, which is body-coloured, same as the side sills. The model name and 'ŠKODA' in block lettering on the tailgate are also gloss black. The roof spoiler sports a matt black finish.
