Coupe-like SUVs are all the rage and Buick, builder of staid semi-luxurious crossovers, is looking to get in on the action with the 2024 Envista. Set to take on the likes of the Audi Q5 Sportback and the Mercedes-Benz GLC Coupe, the Chinese-built Envista will do so with its more wallet-friendly pricing. Style-wise it’s a little awkward looking, at least to our eye, but beauty is in the eye of the beholder. We have few details about the North American variant so far, but Buick has confirmed that the model will make it to our shores, positioned between the smaller Encore GX and the larger Envision SUVs.
Engine Performance
The Chinese version of the Envista is powered by a 181hp turbocharged 1.5 liter four cylinder that is hooked up to a continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT). That same powertrain probably with your choice of fron or all wheel drive could make its way here unchanged or Buick could drop in the more powerful 228-hp turbo 2.0-liter from the Envision which also uses a nine-speed automatic.
